Dubai Court Case Inquiryby Case Number: Step by Step

Key takeaway: You can check a Dubai Courts case online with the case number and the case year, through the "Inquiry by Case Number" service in the Public Services section of the Dubai Courts website (dc.gov.ae) or the Dubai Courts smart app. Enter the numbers in English (Western) numerals. Verdicts have a separate verdict inquiry page.

How to check a Dubai Courts case by case number and year: the official Dubai Courts inquiry pages, what you need, how to read the result, verdict inquiry and common problems.

What you need before you start

To check a case at Dubai Courts you need the case number (serial number) and the case year. Both appear on court notices, SMS messages and documents filed in the case.

  • Case serial number (for example 293)
  • Case year (for example 2025)
  • The case category if you use the category route (see below)

The Dubai Courts Smart Services portal asks you to enter the case number and year in English numerals (for example year 2012, serial 293), not Arabic-Indic numerals.

How to check a Dubai Courts case by case number, step by step

  1. Open the Dubai Courts "Inquire the Case Details" page in the Public Services section of dc.gov.ae.
  2. Either choose the main category your case belongs to (Settlements, Claims, Temporary and Summary judicial orders, Contestation of judgements, Execution, or Judicial Committees) and press Continue, or use the direct "Case Number" inquiry.
  3. Enter the case year and the case serial number in English numerals.
  4. Submit and read the case details shown.

You can also use the Track Case service on the Dubai Courts Smart Services portal, or the Dubai Courts smart app, available on the App Store and Google Play. If a service asks you to sign in, Dubai Courts supports login with UAE PASS.

Which case categories can you search?

Category on the Dubai Courts pageWhat it covers
SettlementsCases at the settlement (conciliation) stage
ClaimsLawsuits filed before the courts
Temporary and Summary judicial ordersUrgent and summary orders
Contestation of judgementsAppeals and other challenges to judgments
ExecutionEnforcement of judgments
Judicial CommitteesCases before judicial committees

How to check a verdict

Dubai Courts has a separate Verdict Inquiry by Case Number page for judgments, so use it once the case has been decided.

Case number, application number or police number?

These are different references, and using the wrong one is the most common reason a search returns nothing.

  • Court case number: the number and year the court assigns to the case. This is what the case inquiry needs.
  • Application (request) number: the reference for an application submitted to Dubai Courts. It has its own "Case Application Inquiry" service and is not a case number.
  • Police report or Public Prosecution number: criminal complaints go through Dubai Police and the Public Prosecution before any court case exists, so a police or prosecution reference will not work in the Dubai Courts case inquiry.

Common problems

  • Arabic numerals: type the numbers in English numerals.
  • Wrong year: use the year in the case number, not the year of the hearing.
  • Wrong reference: check you are using the court case number, not an application, police or prosecution number.
  • Wrong emirate: Dubai Courts only shows cases filed at Dubai Courts. Cases in Abu Dhabi are handled by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, and federal courts by the Ministry of Justice.

Cases outside Dubai

If your case is not in Dubai, use the official channels of the court that handles it: the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department for Abu Dhabi, or the UAE Ministry of Justice for the federal courts.

Use the "Inquiry by Case Number" service in the Public Services section of dc.gov.ae, or the Dubai Courts smart app, and enter the case year and serial number in English numerals.

What do I need to check a Dubai court case online?

The case serial number and the case year. If you search by category, you also choose the case category, such as Claims or Execution.

Why does my case number not work?

Usually because Arabic numerals were used, the year is wrong, or the number is an application, police or prosecution number rather than a court case number.

How do I check a judgment from Dubai Courts?

Use the separate Verdict Inquiry by Case Number page on the Dubai Courts website.

Can I check a police or prosecution case in the Dubai Courts inquiry?
